Notifications

Where the portal tells you something has changed, and how to clear the list.

Last updated

The portal tells you when something has moved: a submission changes status, pricing is ready, a contract is sent for signature. Notifications are the record of that, and they are the reason you do not have to keep checking.

The bell

Top right of every screen. The badge counts unread notifications and stops counting at 99+. Clicking it opens the list, newest first.

The list loads a page at a time — there is a Load more button, and after the first use it continues loading as you scroll. With nothing to show it reads No Notifications — You have no notifications at the moment.

Clearing the list

Opening a notification marks it read and takes you to the submission or contract it refers to. To clear everything at once, use Mark all as read at the top of the dropdown.

Notifications that arrive while you are looking

If something happens while you have the portal open, a toast appears in the top-right corner with a View button that jumps straight to the item, and a short sound plays.

The sound only accompanies notifications that arrive while you are on the page, not ones already waiting when you sign in. If you never hear it, that is usually because your browser blocks audio until you have interacted with the tab.

What generates a notification

Notifications cover the two things that carry a VSA number:

  • Submissions — each status change through the valuation process. See How a valuation works for what each status means.
  • Contracts — generation, signature requests, and changes to a contract you hold.

Email

Some events also send email, and those are the ones you cannot afford to miss in a list: your account setup link, a password reset, confirmation that a contract request has been received, and the BoldSign signing link itself.

The signing link in particular arrives by email rather than only in the portal, because signing happens on BoldSign rather than inside Barkr. See Signing your contract.

If Barkr emails stop arriving, check your spam folder first, then ask whoever runs your mail to allow the Barkr sending domain. Setup and reset links are one-time and time-limited, so a message that sits in quarantine for a day is a message that has expired.
